Day 20, Monday, July 5, 2010
Slept in this morning then hunted the place where Los Gatos locals eat breakfast. It was the “Southern Kitchen” . Since we are in “silicon valley” we just took a little time after breakfast to roam the shops. We wanted to get a few items and asked where to find a Wal-Mart. I think we insulted the person we asked because he replied indignantly “Not in this area”. We asked about a Target and got much the same answer.

There are so many flowers, flowering shrubs and flowering trees here; it is really beautiful.
A few years ago, Floyce gave me a GPS unit for Christmas and it has been wonderful. I can’t imagine the amount of time we would have used trying to go all of the places we’ve been using maps.

Guy “whats his name” from the food channel had done a show from Naglee’s Garage Diner on “Diners, Drive Ins and Dives” in San Jose and since it was only about 10 miles away, we thought it might be fun to have a snack there. When we got there, we found they we were closed on Mondays.

There was a coffee shop next door so we had a mocha each and I had a cookie. The pigeons that were foraging for food were very tame and Floyce began feeding them crumbs from my cookie and taking their pictures. She truly does love all the animals. Missouri hicks that we are, we finally did find a Wal-Mart and purchased the things we needed.
We will stay the night again in Los Gatos then move on eastward tomorrow.
