Day 7 June 22, 2010
Wow! Today was quite a day. The temps are sill In the 40’s at night and 70’s during the day. We drove west on I90 to Butte, MT where we saw a copper mine then stopped in town to have a cup of “jail house” coffee at the old jail house. It was interesting that the old jail was right next to a building advertising the “Thursday Night Fights”. The lady in the old jail said that the boxers were mostly women now. Then on to Phillipsburg where Floyce “panned for sapphires. She was able to find 17 of “cuttable” size and had a lot of fun. It cost $15 per bucket for the dirt that she panned but I think this will be small compared to the cost of getting them mounted. Then we drove through Flathead Indian Reservation and up to Kalispell, just outside of Glacier National Park where we spent the night. The drive was beautiful along streams that meander through the lush grasses along the highway.

What fun to just meander without much of an agenda! You sound like you are having a great time stopping to smell the roses.
